IITian as Railway Trackman
Government jobs in India always have a lot of craze for its huge employee benefits. And this is the reason why most of the Indians prefer govt jobs, even though it is hard to achieve. For every govt exam, we can see lakhs of people attempting it. Also, there are people who are spending thousands and even lakhs for coaching. Here is the best example to tell that people are not going to leave a govt job, even if it doesn’t suit their education and skill set. An IITian named Shrawan Kumar has joined group “D” job in the Indian Railways in Dhanbad railway division as a trackman recently!
Shrawan holds a B.Tech and M.Tech degree from Mumbai IIT. Many senior officers of the Dhanbad Railway Division has surprised as they never thought such a highly qualified person will join on group D post. Shrawan has been posted at Chandrapura under Public Works Inspector (PWI), Telo and take care of the track maintenance between Chandrapura and Telo section.
He explained that job security is the main reason for joining in railways. Shrawan had joined IIT- Bombay in 2010 in the integrated dual degree course and got a degree in 2015. He said that he is focusing on government job since beginning. He is also confident that he can become a high-grade officer in future. Shrawan also said that his IIT friends who are doing private jobs don’t recommend him to do the same as they are very stressful.
