The total number of Coronavirus cases in India has risen to 56,342 while death toll has surged to 1,886, as per data released by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The country recorded around 3,900 cases in the last 24 hours and more than 10,000 cases were reported in just 3 days. Of the total 56,342 cases, 37,916 are active while 16,539 people have recovered, and 1,886 are dead.
Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with the total number of cases rising to 17,974, followed by Gujarat which reported 7,012 cases and Delhi with 5,980 cases.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, India launched its ‘Vande Bharat mission’ to bring home Indians stranded abroad due to the lockdown imposed in different countries.
Its lockdown 3.0 going on currently, and with it not being so restrictive and strict, there have been certain relaxations given in all the three zones. Some states have allowed the e-commerce services to operate while some have restricted any service of similar kind.
India has also identified four dedicated COVID-19 hospitals to be a part of “Solidarity”, the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) international clinical trial to help find an effective treatment for novel coronavirus.
