India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI

The third and last match of the three-match ODI series between New Zealand and India will be played on 11 February at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

However, India has already lost the series as New Zealand is leading by 2-0 in the three-match series. But winning this time is important as it will avoid India being whitewashed by New Zealand for the first time. The last time India was clean swept in ODI was back in 1989 when they lost it against the West Indies 0-5.

Rishabh Pant is the only Indian cricketer who is yet to play a game in this New Zealand tour. It will be interesting to see if the Indian team management gives him a go, asking KL Rahul to go back to the opening position.

This time India may change its regular playing XI as it is an opportunity to try out some players who have not got a go in this ODI series. On the New Zealand side, their captain Kane Williamson is set to return and there are some doubts for bowler Tim Southee to be ruled out of the squad due to his bad health.

The pitch in the last T20I at the same ground was on the slower side. However, the deck of Bay Oval is generally batting friendly. We might witness a high-scoring contest in Mount Maunganui.
