Indian Film won Oscar Award 2019!
Pride moment for India has finally arrived with the greatest won in Oscar Awards 2019. The documentary film “Period. End of Sentence” by producer Guneet Monga won the award in the Best Documentary Short Subject at the 91st Academy Awards.
This is a film on menstruation, set in rural India, de-busting the taboos. It also shows how women in rural areas are facing menstrual problems.
The film is a part of The Pad Project which has been started by students at the Oakwood School in Los Angeles and their teacher Melissa Berton.
Award-winning filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi has directed the short film and she said “I am not crying because I am on my period or anything. I can’t believe a film on menstruation won an Oscar.”
