Intense Campaign Precedes Graduate MLC By-Election in Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Constituency
A high-voltage campaign has marked the lead-up to the Graduate MLC by-election set to be held today for the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal constituency. The election follows the resignation of MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who was elected as MLA from Jangaon in the Erstwhile Warangal district. With 52 candidates initially in the fray, the main contenders include Teenmar Mallanna from Congress, Rakesh Reddy from BRS, Gujjala Premender Reddy from BJP, and Independent candidate Palakuri Ashok.
MLC by-poll election officer and Nalgonda collector Dasari has overseen necessary arrangements across 12 districts that fall under the former Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal districts. A total of 4,63,839 voters are expected to cast their votes across 605 polling stations established for their convenience. To ensure smooth conduct, 1448 polling staff members have been deployed, with 807 ballot boxes arranged for the election. Polling will take place from 8 AM to 4 PM on May 27, with vote counting scheduled for June 5 at Godowns located in Anishetty Duppalapally of Tipparthy mandal in Nalgonda district.
