Jagan Says, Boom Boom Babu!

The Jangareddygudem deaths still continued to shock the State Assembly on Wednesday with CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launching an aside against TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and his colleagues for distorting facts to bring shame to the State government, even as opposition MLAs demanded a debate on the issue.
Jagan was referring to the natural deaths in Jangareddygudem, which the TDP has been claiming as hooch tragedy. Addressing the House at the conclusion of a brief discussion on liquor policy, he asserted that there was no cheap liquor in the State and the available Indian Made Foreign Liquor was being fermented by licensed distilleries in AP.
He said that his government had not permitted new brands or new breweries and distilleries, Jagan stated that the existing ones were allowed by the previous governments, including that of the TDP. “It was Naidu’s government that gave permissions to almost 254 brands, such as Boom, Governor’s Choice, President Medal, Power Star 999, 999 Legend, ACB, Cliffhanger, Crazy Doll, and for seven distilleries, and described them as Chandranna Kaanuka.
Jagan taunted Babu as “He backstabbed his father-in-law NT Rama Rao, leading to his death and every year he pays tributes to him”. Asserting that there was no cheap liquor in the State, he stated that TDP and Naidu the only cheap brand and person, if any, in AP.
“There are 20 distilleries in the State and none of them were started by our government and before 1982, there were only 5 and during Chandrababu Naidu’s govt, as many as 14 distilleries were permitted, of which 7 were given permission during 2014-19,” Jagan said.
He said that, YSRC govt gave permission for 16 medical colleges and 13 new districts and not for 14 distilleries and 254 liquor brands, adding that Naidu’s name should be changed to Sara instead of Nara for promoting so much liquor. He further stated many distilleries were being owned by TDP leaders or their relatives.
