January 2025 Visa Bulletin: Positive News for Indian Green Card Applicants
The US Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs has released the January 2025 Visa Bulletin, offering hopeful updates for Indian green card applicants in family-sponsored and employment-based categories.
In the EB-2 category, India sees a significant advancement of two months, with the priority date moving to January 1, 2013. Meanwhile, China progresses to October 1, 2020. The EB-3 category for skilled workers and professionals remains at June 8, 2013, for India. Set-aside visas, such as those for rural or high-unemployment areas, remain current, allowing timely processing.
Family-sponsored categories have also seen modest progress. The F1 category (unmarried children of US citizens) has advanced to November 22, 2015. The F3 category (married children of US citizens) has moved forward to July 1, 2010, while F4 (siblings of US citizens) has reached August 15, 2006, for India.
The Visa Bulletin serves as a crucial resource for applicants navigating the US immigration system, providing priority dates and estimating wait times. Those already in the US may pursue adjustment of status, while applicants abroad can apply for immigrant visas through US consulates.
The February 2025 Visa Bulletin may bring further updates, offering fresh hope for those in the immigration queue.
