KCR enjoys a busy day at the newly launched Secretariat.
On Monday, a day after inaugurating the new Telangana Secretariat, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao conducted review meetings and made important decisions in the state administrative headquarters.
When he opened the building, the Chief Minister arrived at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat late on Sunday. As the Chief Minister is commonly called, KCR entered the new Secretariat building by the main East gate and made his way to the Yagashala, where the Sudharshana Yagam was conducted on Sunday. He participated in the second of two ceremonial pujas conducted by Vedic experts.
Then he went straight to his office suite on the sixth level. He went around to all of his Secretaries' and Additional Secretaries' and PROs' offices to see how they were set up and to ask questions. The Chief Minister walked around the building, presumably meeting with officials.
The public officials who had come to see him met with him in his chamber after that.
KCR's new Secretariat hosted its first review meeting on Monday, and the topic of discussion was the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation plan.
The Supreme Court's approval of the drinking water portion of the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation project was considered, and he checked in on the development of the project's efforts to provide potable water to the unconsolidated Mahabubnagar and Rangareddy districts.
The Chief Minister postponed by a month the date by which notary lands must be regularized following Government Orders 58 and 59.
KCR promised that the state government would provide people experiencing poverty with the legal right to build homes on land they already own in the municipalities that fall within the boundaries of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
He urged residents to take advantage of the chance presented by the state administration. Residents are urged to schedule meetings with their local Assembly Members to address notary, regularization of home sites, and other concerns.
The Prime Minister has promised that the Government will address every issue. He said that the government's major goal is to handle the poor housing difficulties all at once, adding that a special push will be organized for this. People will be granted land pattas with legal rights.
He also promised that the notarial issues with the farmland would be fixed. There will shortly be a symposium for collectors to discuss this matter.
Hyderabad and Secunderabad's MLAs met with the Chief Minister, where they pressed him to do something about the lack of affordable housing in the region.
The opposition parties frequently attack the chief minister for seldom leaving his official house of Pragati Bhavan. They had hoped that he would start making regular visits there with the construction of the big and cutting-edge Secretariat according to his design.
KCR has previously responded to opposition party criticism by saying a Chief Minister can do his job from any place.
