KTR Challenges CM Revanth Reddy to Public Debate on Hyderabad’s Development

BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has dared Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to an open debate on Hyderabad’s development record, comparing ten years of BRS governance with two years of Congress rule. Speaking at the release of the Jubilee Hills Progress Report, KTR accused the Congress government of undoing years of growth achieved under K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership.

He listed major infrastructure achievements of the BRS era — 42 flyovers and underpasses, completion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, 24-hour power supply, and the Swachh Hyderabad initiative — claiming Congress has failed to build even a single new road. “If Revanth Reddy is honest, let him fix a time and place for the debate — even in his own palace,” KTR said.

Accusing the Congress of poor governance, KTR alleged that the city’s crime rate had risen by 41 percent and that investors were fleeing due to mismanagement. He claimed the Congress government was billing citizens for water that was free under BRS and demolishing double-bedroom houses without replacements.

He also accused Congress of intimidating L&T officials linked to the Metro project and damaging Hyderabad’s biodiversity by attempting to sell university land. Urging voters to judge records, not rhetoric, KTR said, “We built a global city; they made it a cesspool. The people will give their verdict on November 11.”
