Lift Irrigation Project Inauguration In July
 
The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project which will provide water to 45 lakh acres of land each in Kharif and Rabi Seasons will be inaugurated in July. The TRS Government will attend the aim of providing water according to its needs of the state.
The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) is a prestigious TRS government project, where the water will be lifted from River Godavari during the floods, which lasts for 180 days, between June and December. Approximately, 540 tmc to 600 tmc water is planned to be lifted from the Godavari through KLIS project every year.
The state government this year will lift 2 tmc of water per day this year, the next year it will be 3 tmc of water per day, there will be need of electricity supply to lift that amount of water, the estimated power supply for 2 tmc is 3,800 MV and for 3 tmc is 6,100 MW. The cost of this power supply will be looked after by the government.
With the help of this scheme 85 % of drinking, irrigation and industrial needs will be fulfilled.
