Mukesh Ambani Unleashes Jio Fiber!

The much talked about fiber-to-the-home service, Jio Fiber, was unveiled by Mukesh Ambani today. He made the announcement at the 42^nd AGM of Reliance Industries. He said that the services provided by Jio Fiber will be available at one-fifth to one-tenth rates of the current global rates.

At just 700 Rs per month, the basic plan will essentially offer lifetime free voice calls from landline phones and high-speed broadband, besides free high definition TV and dish with the minimum subscription. The basic plan will have 100 Mbps speed. The top plans come at Rs 10,000 a month and will have speed up to 1 Gpbs. They will provide access to broadband, Jio HomeTV and Jio's IoT.

On the third anniversary of Reliance Jio on 5^th September, the Jio Fiber services will start commercially. They will also offer an international calling plan at Rs. 500 per month. This will have unlimited calling to US and Canada. Under the unveiled plans, there is another category of Jio Forever Plans. These plans allow the users to get an HD or 4k LED television and 4k set-top box for free.

Ambani announced, “Voice calls from home will be free forever”. He further added, “Also, for the first time in India, we are introducing a disruptive concept for watching new movies. Premium Jio Fiber customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms the same day these movies are released in theatres".

Jio Fiber will also empower, small to medium business as well as big businesses. Jio IoT will be commercially available from 1^st January 2020.
