Nagarjuna Reveals His Role as CBI Officer in 'Kuberaa'

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has confirmed that he will portray a complex CBI officer in the upcoming film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film also stars Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles and marks the first collaboration between National Award-winner Dhanush and Kammula.

Speaking about his role, Nagarjuna described his character as a middle-class man who is conflicted between right and wrong. He praised Kammula’s writing, highlighting the nuanced portrayal and emotional depth of his character. “It’s a role that allows for a very subtle performance,” he added, appreciating the script’s potential for layered storytelling.

The actor noted that he joined this multi-starrer to support strong storytelling and shared that legendary actors like NTR, Krishna, and Shobhan Babu had done similar collaborations in their time. Nagarjuna also expressed long-standing admiration for Kammula’s work, especially his debut film Anand, known for its socially conscious themes.

Kuberaa also features actor Jim Sarbh in a key role. The film boasts technical excellence with music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Niketh Bommi. With a runtime of 181 minutes, the film will release worldwide on June 20 in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
