A day after PM Modi addressed the whole nation and extended the lockdown to 3 May, the Union Home Ministry today released fresh guidelines for the period of extension of lockdown.
The government has given some relief to the industrial sector like those functioning from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and some of the manufacturing units have been given relief to operate during the lockdown.
However, construction activities in municipal areas will only be allowed if workers are staying on-site.
Gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, bars, cinema halls, malls and shopping complexes will remain closed till May 3.
Manufacturing units producing essential goods such as drugs, medicines etc have been allowed to function.
Wearing of face cover is compulsory in all public places, workplaces and Spitting in public places has been made a punishable offence with a fine.
All international, domestic flights remain suspended till May 3. All train services will also remain suspended.
However, there will be some relaxations after 20 April in the regions which are not the COVID-19 Hotspot. These include the production of farm activities and opening of public transport facility.
Grocery stores, fruit, vegetables shops or carts, milk booths, poultry, meat and fish shops to remain open during lockdown.
