No Talks with Pakistan, Until it Stops Terrorism: Sushma Swaraj
On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that the Kartarpur corridor initiative is not connected with the dialogue process with Pakistan.
The talks will only start, once Islamabad stop terrorism in India, Sushma said. India is asking for a corridor, which facilitates visa-free travel of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, for many years now.
Also, Sushma explained that she was happy for the positive response from Pakistan. “But it doesn’t mean bilateral talks will start with this”, she added.
Sushma is also addressing a press meet and also going to campaign for Telangana elections on December 7th.
“The moment Pakistan stops terrorist activities in India, the dialogue can start but the dialogue is not connected with only the Kartarpur corridor," she said.
On Wednesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone for corridor linking Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur which is the final resting place of Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India's Gurdaspur district.
According to the sources, the Kartarpur Corridor is expected to be completed within six months.
