PM Modi Slams Trump Claim on Pakistan Ceasefire: ‘No Leader Told India to Halt Strikes’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dismissed former U.S. President Donald Trump's claims that he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking in Lok Sabha, Modi clarified that no world leader influenced India’s decisions during Operation Sindoor.
This rebuttal came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi challenged Modi to publicly call Trump a "liar" and questioned his government’s handling of military operations. Gandhi cited the 1971 war to highlight the importance of political will, contrasting it with the current administration’s response.
Home Minister Amit Shah informed Parliament that all three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack were neutralized during Operation Mahadev near Srinagar. The attack had killed 26 civilians, prompting India to launch Operation Sindoor—targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also addressed the Parliament, reinforcing that India's armed response was precise and well-coordinated. Modi’s firm stance in Parliament emphasized India's sovereign right to retaliate without foreign interference, firmly rejecting Trump's controversial remarks.
The ongoing debate underscores the political and diplomatic sensitivity around India’s counter-terrorism measures and global narratives shaping their perception.
