Telangana Government yesterday announced lockdown of the State till March 31, with an aim to stop the spread of Covid-19. It has found yet another way to encourage social distancing and contain the spread of coronavirus in the state.
The government on Monday directed the shops and establishments in the state to paint footmarks on the floor to keep the customers waiting in line at a distance from one another. This is a very crucial and creative step in encouraging people towards social distancing.
The orders were issued by Special Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari by saying that the marked points will remind customers of keeping a safe distance and Also avoid forming clusters. The marks can be made inside the premises of the shop or even outside the shop on footpaths in case of the constraint of space.
The government has already locked All borders with the neighboring States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. However, the movement of essential and perishable commodities will be allowed.
All inter-State bus and transport services (public and private) will be stopped and residents have been strictly asked to be inside their homes.
Coronavirus cases in India have gone up to 433 with 9 deaths already being confirmed in the country.
