Paris Olympics: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh Secure Second Bronze in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team
Chateauroux, France: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh showcased exceptional skill and teamwork to win the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday. The Indian duo triumphed over South Korea with a score of 16-10, securing India's second medal at this year's Games.
This victory marks a historic moment for Manu Bhaker, who became the first Indian athlete post-Independence to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics. Earlier in the competition, Bhaker had already claimed a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event.
Reflecting on India's pre-Independence Olympic achievements, British-Indian athlete Norman Pritchard won two silver medals in the 200m sprint and 200m hurdles at the 1900 Olympics. However, Bhaker's accomplishment is unique in the post-Independence era.
