Raveena Tandon, MM Keeravani Receive Padma Shri

Padma Shri Awards 2023: On Wednesday in New Delhi, the Padma Shri was given to the actor Raveena Tandon, the Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, the tabla master Zakir Hussain, and the vocalist Vani Jairam. Out of 106 recipients of the fourth-highest civilian honour in India, four came from the entertainment sector, according to President Murmu. To receive the awards, Raveena and Keeravani were both present at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Raveena posted a photo to Instagram from the event in which she was seen receiving the honour from the President. "A date of love and celebrations #padmashri #23," the actor captioned the picture.
The actor could be seen posing with her daughter Rasha Thadani and spouse Anil Thadani, who were both present at the ceremony, in another photo that has since gone viral on social media. She can be seen in the photo alongside RRR director SS Rajamouli. Prior to the announcement of the awards, Raveena went to Instagram to thank her supporters and dedicate the honour to her late father.
"(I am) Honored and grateful," Raveena stated. Thank you so much, Government of India, for appreciating my contributions, my life's work, my love of the arts, and everything else that made it possible for me to contribute not just to the film business but to other fields as well. I want to thank everyone who helped me on this voyage through the art and craft of filmmaking, both those who held my hand and those who looked down on me.I credit my father (sic) for this.
Keeravani, who has been selecting music for the film business since the 1990s, attended the ceremony with his family. President Murmu presented him with the prized honour while he was dressed in a black bandhgala suit. In films like Criminal (1995), Sur (2002), Zakhm (1998), Jism (2003), and Saaya (2003), among others, Keeravani is renowned for his outstanding soundtrack.
On Wednesday, April 5, the Indian government awarded Padma Shris to individuals in a variety of fields, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, business and commerce, medicine, literature, education, sports, and civil service, among others.
