Revanth Reddy Pays Tributes to YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Advocates for Rahul Gandhi as PM
Hyderabad: On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid homage to the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, on his 75th birth anniversary. During the commemoration, Revanth Reddy reminisced about Rajasekhara Reddy's vision for India, stating that the late leader aspired to see Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister.
Revanth Reddy passionately urged attendees to pledge their support for Rahul Gandhi's prime ministerial campaign. "Those who vow to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister and work towards this goal are the true successors of Rajasekhara Reddy," he declared. He emphasized that opposing this vision equates to opposing the legacy of the revered leader.
The event, held at Gandhi Bhavan, saw Revanth Reddy, his deputy Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other party leaders paying respects at the statue of Rajasekhara Reddy located at Punjagutta. Following this, the Chief Minister visited a photo exhibition at the government’s Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan, showcasing the life and contributions of Rajasekhara Reddy, affectionately known as YSR.
The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including AICC in-charge of party affairs in Telangana, Deepa Dasmunsi, and other prominent Congress leaders. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy served as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 2004 until his untimely demise in a helicopter crash in 2009 while still in office.
The tributes and discussions underscored the enduring influence of Rajasekhara Reddy on contemporary politics and the ongoing efforts to honor his vision for the country.
