Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav Set New Records As India Level The Series
India takes the 2nd ODI at Rajkot by 4 runs, after defeating Australia to level the series 1-1. It’s the first ODI victory for India at the home ground after losing four consecutive matches.
With Shikhar Dhawan scoring the highest score of 96, Indian captain, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul also scored half-centuries to lead India to a historic win at Rajkot. However, an expensive over came from
Steve Smith, from the opposite side, scored an impressive 98 before getting out at Kuldeep Yadav’s ball. Labuschagne scored 46, but after Ravindra Jadeja dismissed him, Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually fell short of the target by 36 runs.
This match also witnessed some new records being set-up. Rohit Sharma became the fastest batsmen to score 7,000 runs as an opener in ODI’s and Kuldeep Yadav became the fastest spinner to reach 100 ODI wickets.
Both the teams will now lock horns when they face for the decider that will be played in Bengaluru on Sunday.
