Severe Storms Predicted Across Telangana; Hyderabad on Alert

Telangana is bracing for another round of intense weather as meteorologists forecast scattered to severe thunderstorms across central, western, and southern regions of the state on August 5. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rains, strong winds, and lightning.
While the day is expected to remain hot and humid, storm activity is likely to intensify from afternoon through the night, especially in regions like Warangal, Khammam, and Mahbubnagar. Hyderabad is also expected to receive scattered showers during the afternoon and evening, though the severity may not match the previous day’s storms. However, authorities warn of potential heavy downpours during the late-night and early-morning hours.
Residents are advised to stay indoors during storm hours, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow updates from local weather authorities. Precautionary measures include securing loose items, staying away from electrical appliances during lightning, and being prepared for potential waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The IMD continues to monitor the developing weather systems closely and may update warnings as needed. Local officials have urged people to remain cautious and ensure safety, especially during nighttime when visibility is low and storm impacts could be more hazardous.
