Singapore police are probing an Indian national for apparently being involved in a public protest against PM Narendra Modi's controversial citizenship law.
Singapore police said they were investigating a 32-year-old Indian male for joining in "a public assembly without a police permit" at the Marina Bay waterfront, financial and tourist district.
"He carried out the activity in Marina Bay, to show his opposition to CAA," police said on late Wednesday. Though, The statement gave no more details of the assembly of protest.
Local media stated the man posted a picture of himself on social media platforms with a placard to express his unhappiness. The police said taking part in a public assembly without a police permit is illegal in Singapore.
