Six Deaths In Telangana Today

Telangana recorded its highest number of deaths in a single day today as six people died of COVID-19. They are suspected to have contracted the disease when they traveled to Delhi to attend a religious congregation by the Tabligh-e-Jamaat.

Among the six deaths reported in Telangana, two were admitted to Gandhi Hospital, one in Apollo hospital, one in Global Hospital at Hyderabad and the other who were at District Headquarters Hospitals at Nizamabad and Gadwal.

Over 2,000 delegates, including from Indonesia and Malaysia, attended the Tabligh-e-Jamaat congregation in Nizamuddin West from March 1-15. On testing, around 200 of them have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. This is India’s biggest surge in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in a single day.

Meanwhile, The Telangana government has also requested all who visited Delhi to approach health facilities near them immediately.

“Anyone who has information about them should alert the government, the Medical and Health Department of Telangana State,” the CMO release said.
