TDP Leader Chintamaneni Prabhakar Arrested!

Denduluru former MLA and TDP leader Chintamaneni Prabhakar has been arrested in Duggirralla on Wednesday. He is hiding from the police from 12 days and finally, decided to surrender and informed the same to his well-wishers and lawyers. He asked his lawyer to inform the police about the same. Chintamaneni’s wife is suffering from serious illness and is in hospital. Though he said that he will surrender, the police have searched Chintamaneni’s house without any search warrant which made his fans furious. Chintamaneni met his children and family members, before the arrest but didn’t meet his wife who is in the hospital.

Chintamaneni followers came in large number to stop police but police pulled out the followers and arrested him. According to the affidavit submitted along with his 47-page nomination papers before elections, Chintamaneni has 26 pending criminal cases against him since 2011! After winning the segment for the second time in 2014, 15 cases were booked against him and 5 cases were booked in 2018. However, he has been charged for only 5 cases to date.

Six cases were booked against him on the charge of stopping public servants from doing their duties. He was also booked on charges of kidnapping (IPC 363), theft, mischief, gaming, tress-passing, outraging the modesty of women (IPC 354) and several other offenses.
