TDP Leader Pushes for Nara Lokesh as State President
TDP Senior Leader Budda Venkanna has called Nara Lokesh to be appointed as the party’s state president when they assume power on June 4. In a media address in Vijayawada, Venkanna praised the current TDP state president, Atchannaidu, for his dedicated service and leadership over the past five years.
He urged party chief Chandrababu Naidu to reward Atchannaidu with a key cabinet minister role and to appoint Lokesh as the state president of TDP. Venkanna believes Lokesh is a strong leader who can revitalize the party. He suggested that Babu and Lokesh take on the roles of Chief Minister and state president, respectively, on the same day.
Venkanna highlighted Lokesh’s commitment, noting his 3132-kilometer padayatra for the party and his effective management during Chandrababu’s imprisonment. Addressing the EVM smashing incident involving Macharla YCP MLA Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy, Venkanna recalled being the first victim of Pinnelli’s rowdyism. He claimed Pinnelli auctioned off the Municipal Chairman post to someone willing to attack him and Bonda Uma, with Turka Kishore ultimately securing the position.
Venkanna suggested that a corrupt leader like Pinnelli deserves severe punishment and mentioned that Pinnelli’s name is in Lokesh’s “red book.” He asserted that all community members within the party would support Lokesh as the new state president. Venkanna noted that although Chandrababu Naidu is likely considering Lokesh for the role, various factors will influence the final decision. He emphasized that the party members will collectively urge Babu to appoint Lokesh.
