Telangana Assembly Deputy Speaker In Controversy!

During Bonalu celebrations, Telangana Assembly Deputy Speaker, T. Padma Rao, got surrounded by controversy. The reason was, he stuffed a bundle of notes into a child’s mouth.

On Monday, a video went viral on social media, where Rao can be seen pushing notes into a young boy’s mouth. The boy was playing drums during the celebrations at Mahakali Jathara on 21^st July. He continued playing drums even when the notes were stuck in his mouth and Rao just watched.

Rao, who represents Secunderabad assembly constituency, faced criticism from activists for his act. Some say that the boy could have suffocated as no one removed the bundle from his mouth.

Rao didn’t find anything wrong with appreciating the boy by rewarding him with money. He said, “Had I burnt the currency notes or destroyed it, it would have been an offense or a crime. Is rewarding a child with some money a crime? I put money showing my appreciation. How can it be wrong?”
