Telangana Municipal Election Results 2020 Updates

Counting of votes for 120 municipalities and 9 corporations in Telangana has already started in the morning at 8 am today. V Nagi Reddy, the State Election Commissioner said that the final results will be out by today evening. The Telangana State Election Commission said that the polling for the local area polls was held on Wednesday with a 70.26 % voter turnout. The elections were held for 2,971 wards after councilors to 80 wards and corporators for three divisions have been elected unopposed and almost there were about 12,900 candidates in the race.
The TRS is all set to sweep the municipal elections and going by initial trends, TRS has won 238 wards and the party is leading in over 1100 wards of total 2727 wards. While Congress party just got 55 wards and leading some 300 wards, BJP secured 27 wards and AIMIM won seven wards including three in Bhainsa in Nirmal district.
As per the results so far in municipal elections, TRS is leading with 620 wards, BJP in 80 and congress 170. TRS has won in some areas like IDI Bolaram, Bhingal, Alampur, Marapada, Sattupalli, Dornakal, Dharmapuri and Periyapalli. TRS party is Hurtling towards a handsome victory at 11.48 am, the results are that it has won 872 out of 2979 wards, Congress won 244 wards, the BJP 116 and AIMIM got 20.
Results at 3.25 pm: As per the latest reports, TRS has won 110 out of 120 municipalities in Telangana municipal elections. The Congress has won in 4 municipalities while BJP could register a win on only one seat and the counting for the remaining 9 municipalities is still in process.
Results at 4.30 pm : TRS continues to go forward in the Telangana Municipal Elections, in the municipality of Bhainsa, with it 26 wards, the situation is completely different, out of the 26, AIMIM has won 15 and the BJP has won 9 wards and the Independent candidates won the remaining 2 wards. The TRS, could not win a single ward.
Results at 6.25pm: Telangana CM KCR thanked people of state for trusting and for giving his party, TRS a spectacular victory in the municipal elections.
At 7.30pm: The results of the local body polls in Telangana showed the people's support of the welfare and development programmes carried out by the state government under CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's leadership.
TRS working president KTR said. "The people of Telangana have once again determined that they stand by TRS, whatever is the election and they have rejected the false campaign of opposition parties in the municipal polls".
