Telangana On High Alert
The state of Telangana is on high alert as it reported 945 new COVID-19 positive cases and seven deaths on Tuesday, pushing the overall tally to 16,339 and the fatalities to 260.
Of all the 945 new cases reported on Tuesday, 869 were from within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits alone. It is followed by Rangareddy with 29 cases and Medchal with 13 cases.
The state tested around 3,457 samples in the past 24 hours, out of which 945 of them tested positive for SARS CoV-2 while 2,512 were found negative for the virus.
Also, 1,712 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday which took the number of recoveries in the State to 7,294. The count of active patients is 8,785 in Telangana.
With continuing its trend of reporting higher cases of coronavirus daily, the Telangana government is planning to impose a 15-days more lockdown in the Hyderabad city.
A cabinet meeting led by CM K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will be held later this week to take a decision in this regard.
