Between 2014–15 and 2022–23, Telangana's agricultural and related sectors' Gross State Value Added (GSVA) expanded by an astounding 186 percent. The Gross Value Added (Current Prices) of the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Fisheries sectors to the State economy has increased at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.05 percent from Rs 76,123 crore in 2014–15 to Rs 2,17,877 crore in 2022–23, according to the Socio Economic Outlook 2023, which was released by Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday.
Telangana has advanced significantly in the area of agriculture by implementing novel practises, expanding the use of technology, and offering financial assistance to farmers.
The State produces a significant amount of rice, lemon, maize, grapes, mango, and soybeans, with turmeric and sweet oranges producing the most.
Telangana, with a share of 26.32 percent between October 2019 and September 2021, has emerged as the country's leading contributor to overall Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows in the agriculture service sector, according to the Socio Economic Outlook 2022. In India, it is projected that around Rs 3,000 crore worth of FDI was attracted over the time period.
