Telugu Actress Geethanjali Died

Veteran Telugu actress Geethanjali died of cardiac arrest during the early hours of Thursday in Hyderabad. After suffering a major heart attack, she was rushed to a private hospital in Film Nagar. Geethanjali has acted in over 100 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada languages.
Geetanjali has made her debut with a Hindi film 'Paying Guest' in the year 1957. Later, she made her debut in Telugu with the film Seetarama Kalyanam in which NTR played the lead. In this film, Geethanjali's performance as Goddess Seetha has impressed the Telugu audience. Later, she was seen in films such as Dr. Chakravarthi, Letha Manasulu, Poola Rangadu, Adrustavanthulu, Kaalam Marindi, etc.
After 1972, she took a gap and made her comeback in 1994 with the film 'Pacha Thoranam'. And then, she has acted in supporting roles in a few films. Pellaina Kothalo is one of those films which has become super hit. In this film, Geethanjali impressed everyone in the role of a matured grandmother of the lead actor. She was married to actor Ramakrishna who was also an actor. Ramakrishna died in 2001.
