The Success behind Indian Americans Winning Spelling Bee

Isn’t it surprising that an immigrant community which forms less than 1% of the US population emerge as the dominant force in century-old, iconic American competition!

Yes, we are talking about Scripps National Spelling Bee in which 562 spellers participated and 8 left at the end after facing 20 toughest rounds. And what makes people surprise is that seven of the eight winners this year are Indian Americans.

Sohum Sukhatankar, one of the eight winners, shared his glory with Abhijay Kodali, who was the national runner-up in the South Asian Spelling Bee.

No, they aren’t born with all skills but developed them with the culture and mastered the English language!

The Spelling Bees is a prestigious activity for Indian-American parents. They spent a lot of with their kids, prioritizing their education, skills, playing time, meditation, and everything that is useful for their growth. This is one of the main reasons for their children success.
