Theme Park Horror in Saudi Arabia: ‘360 Degrees’ Ride Snaps Mid-Air, 23 Injured

A terrifying accident occurred at Green Mountain Park in Taif, Saudi Arabia, when the '360 Degrees' amusement ride snapped mid-air, injuring 23 people. The horrifying incident was caught on video, showing a structural failure while the ride was swinging high above the ground. Eyewitnesses heard a loud cracking sound just before the central pole of the ride recoiled violently, causing the structure to split apart.
Despite the ride's safety harnesses holding many passengers in place, three individuals suffered critical injuries and were immediately hospitalized. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. This tragedy follows recent criticism over infrastructure safety, including a botched bridge project in the country.
The Saudi accident closely mirrors another amusement park disaster in India, where a ride at Sayajiraje Park in Akluj, Maharashtra, broke apart in June. Insurance agent Tushar Dhumal died after the car he was riding in detached mid-air from an octopus-themed ride. His friend Vaibhav Rupnavar remains in critical condition after emergency surgery. A bystander captured the chilling moment on video as the ride's arm snapped, throwing passengers off.
Dhumal’s brother has filed a formal complaint alleging operator negligence and unsafe ride conditions. These back-to-back incidents raise serious concerns about amusement park safety standards and oversight globally.
