US Student Visa: Embassy Announces Student Visa Interview Slots

The US Embassy has announced that visa interview slots for student visa categories of M, F, and J have been opened in June and the 1st half of July 2022.

Last year, the US Embassy in India opened student visa interviews much later on June 14 because of the pandemic, with many students who were planning to join US universities has already received their student I-20 documents from American universities and waiting for the interviews.

This year, the US Embassy opened student visa interviews earlier, the US officials hope to issue more student visas than the record number of 62,000 issued last year.

The latest announcement has also told visa students not to panic if they are unable to book a visa appointment in the tranche. Moreover, additional June and July appointments may also be opened up if resources allow. In a relief for applicants, US Embassy has also eased the earlier announced stand of not giving a 2nd chance for visa interviews who had been refused visas earlier.

“If you have a prior refusal, watch for open appointments in the 2nd half of August when you will have a 2nd chance at the interview,” the announcement has clarified.
