Uttarkashi Flash Floods: 409 Rescued, Relief Operations in Full Swing

Rescue operations in Uttarkashi have saved 409 people after devastating flash floods caused by cloudbursts. Of these, 274 are currently safe in Harsil, while 135 have been transported to Uttarkashi and Dehradun. Efforts continue with multiple agencies involved.
The rescued include pilgrims from several states—131 from Gujarat, 123 from Maharashtra, 21 from Madhya Pradesh, and others from UP, Delhi, Karnataka, and Telangana. The State Disaster Management Authority confirmed all 274 in Harsil are safe.
Rescue teams include the Rajputana Rifles (150 soldiers), NDRF (12 personnel), SDRF (69), ITBP (130), and fire services. A 50-member medical team is on-site, and the Police Wireless Unit and civil administrators are coordinating efforts. The BRO has also deployed 15 members.
An additional 819 rescue workers are expected soon to support ongoing operations. Evacuated individuals are receiving medical aid and being prepared for further travel.
The government and all supporting agencies are committed to ensuring the safety and recovery of those affected by the floods.
