Vaikunta Dwara Darshans To Start From Midnight
The Tirumala Temple will celebrate Vaikuntha Ekadashi tomorrow. Tirumala Srivari Vaikunta Dwara Darshan will begin after midnight on Thursday at 1:40 a.m. Temple VIPs are allowed to visit first, then all other devotees, as per protocol.
Tomorrow, during Swarna Ratham, from 9 am to 10 am, the diety will appear before the devotees to celebrate, followed by Chakrasnanam at Pushkarini from 5 am to 6 am on Friday, the day of Dwadashi.
From the 13th to the 22nd of this month, Vaikunta Dwara darshan will continue. VIPs who come in person will be given Darshan passes, TTD officials said. The Sri Padmavati Guest House has set up counters at Venkatakala, Ram Raj, Sita, Govind Sai, and Sannidanam guest houses for the arrangements of accommodation.
Earlier, the Vaikunta Dwara Darshans that started in 1863 at Tirumala, used to have darshans only for 1 day through Vaikunta later increased to 2 days in 1949. However, due to the huge increase in the number of devotees, officials of the temple have decided to increase it to 10 days from 2020. As of midnight today, devotees who have received tokens will be able to access the Uttara Dwara Darshans. Lighting and flowers have already been placed in the temple.
