Virat Kohli Breaks Silence on Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul’s Comments at Talk Show
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli broke his silence on the ongoing controversy involving Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. He said that the team members don’t accord with those views and that inappropriate comments reflect poorly on the team spirit India has managed to nurture over the years.
On the eve of first ODI against Australia, Kohli said, “we as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and those were individual opinions.”
Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul could face suspension from BCCI, but that decision is still to be made ahead of opening ODI vs Australia. As per Committee of Administrators chairman Vinod Rai, Pandya and Rahul’s explanations were not convincing enough and he recommended a two-match ban.
“From the Indian cricket team’s point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have been able to create. We are still waiting for a decision to be made and then we’ll have to think about the combinations”, said the Indian skipper.
