‘Washi Yo Washi’: Pawan Kalyan’s Haiku Adds Drama to ‘OG’

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated film OG is all set for a global release on September 25, with paid premieres on September 24 in Telangana, the US, and other locations. As part of the promotions, the makers unveiled a unique Japanese haiku, sung by Pawan himself, which has sparked excitement among fans.

The haiku, titled “Washi Yo Washi”, appears in the film as Pawan confronts the antagonist Omi, played by Emraan Hashmi. It begins with Pawan’s lines: “Omi… my dear Omi… you are flying high, but I know how to bring you down.” He then recalls a haiku taught by his master. Translated, it warns: “Oh Eagle, if you want to kill a wild eagle, first cut its wings. When it falls, take its eyes. Blind, it cannot find its way. Then cut its legs so it cannot move. Finally, take its wild heart.”

The eagle symbolizes Omi, foreshadowing his defeat at the hands of Pawan’s character. The verse adds a philosophical and dramatic layer to the movie, enhancing its narrative depth.

OG also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, with a stellar supporting cast including Prakash Raj, Shriya Reddy, Arjun Das, and Harish Uthaman. The film’s music is composed by Thaman, while DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari produce it under DVV Entertainments.

With its intense dialogues, striking visuals, and the symbolic power of Washi Yo Washi, OG has already generated massive buzz. Fans believe the haiku will become one of the film’s most iconic moments.
