Why this Popular Actress Quit from Mani Ratnam Project?

Earlier it was heard that actress Anushka Shetty rejected Mani Ratnam’s upcoming project Ponniyin Selvan due to lyricist Vairamuthu’s association with the movie. Now, the latest statement by the actress in a media interaction is different. According to her, the reason for quitting is, she does not like historical and costume dramas.
Ponniyin Selvan is a fictional period film, which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Tamil historical novel. Anushka said that she is tired of the big-budget historical and costume dramas which require her to dump with heavy costumes. She also added that historical movies require heavy makeup for several hours and even demands to learn martial arts, stunts and shooting in challenging situations.
Earlier Anushka has been the part of historic movies like Rudhramadevi, Baahubali series, Arundhati. Now, this Ponniyin Selvan movie is a big-budget project, which is directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Lyca Productions.
On the other side, Anushka is waiting for the release of her upcoming film Nishabdham.
