Will Abhinandan be able to fly fighter jet again?

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who was held captive by Pakistan has been undergoing medical treatment in a military hospital. While the wing commander has expressed his desire to join the cockpit at the earliest, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa on Monday said that Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will fly a fighter jet if and when he gets "medically fit".

Dhanoa said that whatever treatment is necessary will be provided to him and once he is physically fit he can join the fighter cockpit. He further added that the medical fitness of an IAF pilot is most important.

Abhinandan is also the first Indian air force pilot to shoot down an F-16 fighter jet during aerial combat with the Pakistani Air Force.
