With 92,071 New Cases, India Crosses 48 Lakh Mark

India has registered 92,071 new Covid cases & 1,136 deaths in the last 24 hours that takes the country’s case tally to cross the 48 lakh mark. The total case tally stands at 48,46,428 and death toll is at 79,722.

The total case tally stands at 48,46,428 including 9,86,598 active cases, 37,80,108 cured/discharged/migrated and 79,722 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.

India witnessed more than 95,000 cases of the coronavirus disease daily for three days now. The number of deaths has been over 1,000 almost every day since the beginning of September now.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and it went past 40 lakh on September 5.

Meanwhile, a total of 5,51,89,226 samples have been tested up to September 11 with 10,91,251 samples being tested on Friday.

On a positive part, Maharashtra has alone contributed more than 14,000 and Andhra Pradesh has contributed more than 10,000 to the single-day recoveries.
