YSRCP Confident of Securing 175 Seats Through Welfare Schemes
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is strategically targeting constituencies with potential 5% to 10% swings in the upcoming elections, aiming to maintain its stronghold of 151 Assembly seats won in 2019. According to YSRCP State general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the party's ambitious 'Mission 175' hinges on the effective execution of welfare schemes statewide.
Reddy emphasized that 'Mission 175' is not a spontaneous objective but is rooted in the successful implementation of welfare initiatives. He expressed confidence in surpassing the 151-seat mark, citing positive responses from recent Siddham meetings.
Addressing concerns about minority votes, Reddy highlighted the YSRCP's secular credentials as a choice favored by minorities, especially amidst the TDP's alliance with the BJP, given apprehensions over the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Regarding urban dissatisfaction, Reddy clarified that the YSRCP's saturation-mode approach to welfare extends to urban development, with significant investments empowering beneficiaries, particularly women and Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Reddy debunked the notion of neglecting urban development, noting increased spending compared to the previous government and significant progress even in constituencies like Kuppam, the home turf of TDP's national president N. Chandrababu Naidu.
