KTR Dares Revanth Reddy on Formula-E Row, Calls Case “Bogus”

KT Rama Rao (KTR), working president of the BRS, dismissed allegations of corruption in the Formula-E event funding case, branding it a “bogus case” fabricated by the Congress government. He challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to face him in a live televised debate and lie detector test, asserting that the truth should be decided by the people of Telangana.
The controversy revolves around the alleged mismanagement of ₹46 crore released by the government for the 2023 Formula-E race. Speaking on Tuesday, KTR admitted approving the release of funds but clarified that every rupee went directly into the designated account for the event. “Not a single rupee was misused. Where then is the corruption?” he asked, dismissing the allegations as politically motivated.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recently sought approval to proceed with prosecution, raising speculation about possible charges. However, KTR insisted that even if a charge sheet is filed, it will collapse under scrutiny. He accused the Congress of using the case to divert public attention from unfulfilled promises and failures in governance.
Taking a direct swipe at Revanth Reddy, KTR recalled past controversies, including the infamous “cash-for-vote” scandal, alleging that the Chief Minister himself lacked credibility. “Let the people judge who speaks the truth. I am ready for any test, but will he dare join me?” he asked.
He reiterated that the BRS will not be silenced, promising that the party will continue to question the Congress government on guarantees made to farmers, youth, and the unemployed. KTR stressed that Telangana’s citizens deserved accountability, not diversionary politics.
By challenging Revanth Reddy head-on, KTR has escalated the political battle, signaling that the Formula-E case will be a flashpoint in the state’s heated political discourse.
