Nara Lokesh Meets PM Modi, Seeks Central Support for Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, holding wide-ranging discussions on the state’s development, investments, and pending projects. The meeting highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s push for rapid growth with strong central backing.
Lokesh briefed the Prime Minister on the state’s immediate needs, including central assistance for infrastructure projects and smoother implementation of welfare schemes. He also presented Modi with a book titled Yogandhra as a gesture of gratitude. Lokesh particularly thanked the Centre for reducing GST on education materials, stressing that this will significantly benefit students and institutions in Andhra Pradesh.
Investment opportunities formed a key part of the discussion. Lokesh shared details of the state delegation’s recent visit to Singapore, which aimed at attracting global investors. He explained that Andhra Pradesh is actively working to establish itself as a hub for industries, particularly in advanced technology.
A major highlight was the Prime Minister’s approval of a semiconductor unit in the state, which Lokesh called a milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s journey toward becoming a center for high-tech manufacturing. He emphasized that this project will generate jobs, attract global partnerships, and strengthen India’s vision of technological self-reliance.
Lokesh also provided insights into the political and economic climate in Andhra Pradesh, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring stability and growth. The discussions reinforced the importance of Centre-State cooperation for long-term progress.
