Nara Lokesh Step in to Rescue Stranded Vizianagaram Devotees in Kedarnath
Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh and Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu have instructed the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi to take immediate steps to bring back pilgrims from Vizianagaram district who are stranded in Kedarnath. The group had embarked on a pilgrimage to the sacred temple in August through a private travel agency but found themselves stuck due to heavy rains and severe weather conditions.
Family members of the devotees were alerted after receiving distress calls, with the pilgrims urging for help. Responding promptly, Mr. Lokesh and Mr. Appala Naidu assured that they would coordinate with officials at both the central government and Uttarakhand state level to ensure the safe return of the stranded devotees.
Efforts are underway to arrange an airlift for the pilgrims. “We are in close contact with the authorities and are working to expedite their rescue,” Mr. Appala Naidu said.
