Bandobast Review – Something Went Wrong!

Suriya’s Bandobast has created enough buzz with its teaser and trailer. Finally, the film has hit the screens today. Suriya badly needs a hit in Telugu as no recent film of him had become a hit. Let’s check how Bandobast is!
Cast: Suriya Sivakumar, Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa Saigal, Poorna
Director: K.V. Anand
Story: Ravi Kishore (Suriya) is a police officer who escorts Prime Minister (Mohan Lal), a sincere politician who always does good to the country. On one day, the PM gets killed in a military attack. Who killed the PM? How Suriya manages to find and arrest them forms the story.
Review: Suriya is well-known for playing cop roles. We have seen him as a sincere and powerful police officer in the films Yamudu and Singham 2 which were super hits. He played amazing in this film too. But, the problem is with narration. When the film is going in a serious mode, suddenly romance comes in which irks audience. The chemistry between Sayyeshaa and Suriya is good, but the love track is very poor. Mohan Lal as PM did well and elevated the film to the next level. Arya’s performance is decent. Other actors are okay in their roles. The second half of the film has unnecessary dragging. We can remind Mahesh Babu’s films Bharat Ane Nenu and Maharshi at some point. Camera work is good.
What’s Good?
- Suriya and Mohan Lal performance
- Camera work
What’s Okay?
- Story
What’s Bad?
- Narration
- Direction
Verdict: Except for Suriya’s performance, Bandobast has nothing much to offer!
