Darbar Review:
Rajinikanth has performed superbly as a powerful cop and as usual, his style will attract the audience. Nayanthara, as his wife, has also done a decent job. Nivetha Thomas, who plays the Rajni's daughter, fits her role. Prateik Babbar is good in his role and Suniel Shetty as a stylish villain looked good but kept a single expression throughout the film. Yogi Babu’s comedy could have been better. All other actors are okay in their roles.
AR Murugadoss has come up with a routine story that has nothing new to offer. He has also added many commercial elements that are not actually required at some places. Rajinikanth has saved the film with his style, mannerism and acting skills, despite the film having no story. The twists and turns are not so impressive. The storyline is predictable. BGM by Anirudh Ravichander elevates the scenes. Cinema work is awesome as it is colorful and impressive. Editing is tight and appreciable.
