Dhurandhar director’s cut rumours
Speculation surrounding an extended director’s cut of the film “Dhurandhar” has generated significant buzz online, with reports suggesting a possible theatrical release. The rumored version, said to run for an extraordinary 7.5 hours, is believed to combine both parts of the film series into a single, continuous narrative.
The project, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, was originally conceived as one film but later split into two parts due to its length. The proposed director’s cut would reportedly restore the original vision, offering a more immersive and seamless storytelling experience.
Reports indicate that a certification dated March 31 has surfaced, fueling speculation about a limited theatrical release on April 5. However, there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers or production studios. Sources suggest that the news could even be an April Fool’s prank, adding to the uncertainty.
If released, the extended version would feature multiple intervals, improved sound quality, and enhanced visuals, catering to premium formats such as IMAX and Dolby Cinema. Select theaters are expected to screen the film with limited showings over weekends.
Meanwhile, the second installment, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” has performed exceptionally well at the box office, grossing over Rs. 1,300 crore globally. The first part also achieved major commercial success upon its release.
The story follows an undercover intelligence agent navigating high-stakes missions involving terrorism and political intrigue. The sequel continues the narrative, focusing on revenge and larger threats.
Until an official announcement is made, the extended cut remains a topic of speculation, keeping fans intrigued about what could be one of the most ambitious releases in Indian cinema.
