Happy Birthday Rishi Kapoor!

One of the versatile actors of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor turned 67 today. The actor is a part of the film industry from several decades now. He has inspired young generations since his early times.

For the past year, the actor is undergoing cancer treatment in New York. His fans were expecting that he will return home to celebrate his birthday and Ganesh Chaturthi.

On the occasion of his birthday, here are some interesting facts about the actor –

Rishi Kapoor is the second son of legendary actor-director Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. He is also the grandson of Prithivi Raj Kapoor. He was born in Mumbai in 1952.

Rishi has won the National Film Award for his role as a child artist in the movie ‘Mera Naam joker’.

The actor received Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974 for the movie Bobby, which was also his first movie in a lead role, opposite Dimple Kapadia

On 22nd January 1980, Rishi Kapoor married actress Neetu Singh. They have appeared together in as many as fifteen films. The couple has two children - Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.

In 2008, Rishi Kapoor was honored with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. During his career, the actor has worked in more than 140 films. His best performances were in Bobby, Laila Majnu, RafooChakkar, Chandni, Naseeb, Coolie, Amar Akbar Anthony among others.

Rishi has been playing supporting roles from the past few years. For his 2017 film ‘Kapoor & Sons’, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 1999, Rishi has also directed the film 'Aa Ab LautChalen', which starred Rajesh Khanna, Aishwarya Rai and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.
