‘Cauvery Calling’ in recent days got popular as many popular celebrities are supporting the initiative. Started by Sadhguru, Cauvery Calling asks you to help poor farmers who are suffering to meet their needs. As 87 Percent of trees had disappeared in the last 50 years, the forest-fed perennial river has become a seasonal stream. Cauvery Calling is an initiative started by popular Indian Yogi Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev in which he asks you to donate Rs 42 per tree which is a very little amount that is affordable to everyone.

Supporting the cause, many actresses like Kajal Aggarwal, Kangana Ranaut, and others are campaigning currently. And now, popular singer Smita sang the song ‘Cauvery Pilusthundi Kadali ra’. It is a must-listen song for every Indian to understand the problems that farmers are facing because of Cauvery depletion. “The simplest way to make Cauvery flow again is to plant trees. Cauvery Calling will support farmers to plant 242 crore trees in Cauvery basin by adopting agroforestry. These 242 Cr trees will be planted in the next 12 years with peoples participation. Each tree costing Rs.42/-,” said Sadghuru.

For the song, Ananth Sriram has penned beautiful lyrics while MG. Gokary has composed the music. Two years back, ‘Bharatam Mahabharatam’ song was sung about the dangerous levels of depletion of Indian rivers, which has gone viral back then.
