Is Anasuya Done As A Lead Actress?

After starting her career as a television presenter, Anasuya took the route to the cinema. She made her debut in Naaga as a law student in 2003. She got a chance to work with Akkineni Nagarjuna in Soggade Chinni Nayana in 2016. Her impressive acting as an antagonist in Kshanam was liked by all. She did many supporting, but pivotal roles in films like Rangasthalam and Yatra.

Anasuya turned to a lead actress in Kathanam. However, the film failed to create any buzz. Right from shooting stages, to promos and to trailer; people didn’t pay much attention to it. Even the promotions were dim and Anasuya didn’t promote aggressively. This all led to a slow opening. After the first week of its release, the film got removed from the theaters.

The film didn’t do good business at the box office and the producer of the film suffered a loss of 2 crores with this film. The movie was able to grab a rating of 1.5 out of 5, by many news channels and newspapers.

Anasuya has currently only one movie in her bucket – an unnamed movie produced by Vijay Deverakonda. If this movie also fails to create an impact, the film industry feels that she should not go for lead roles in the future, instead stick to supporting roles.
